Privacy Policy

Spaceman Reality, LLC ("Spaceman", "we", "us") makes the Spaceman Immersive 3D Camera, the Spaceman mobile app, and the Spaceman VR app. We believe your memories belong to you. This policy explains, in plain language, what data we do and do not collect when you use our apps.

The Short Version

• We do not collect personally identifiable information. We don't ask for your name, email, address, phone number, or account credentials to use the Spaceman VR app or Spaceman mobile app.
• We never collect your photos or videos. The stereo videos and images you capture with Spaceman stay on your device (and, if you choose, on storage you control). They are never uploaded to us.
• We collect only anonymous usage statistics and crash reports so we can fix bugs and improve the apps.

What We Collect

When you use the Spaceman VR app or the Spaceman mobile app, we collect:

• Anonymous usage statistics. Aggregate, non-identifying information such as which features are used, session length, app version, device model, and operating system version. This helps us understand how the app is used so we can make it better.
• Crash reports. Technical diagnostic information generated automatically when the app encounters an error, including stack traces, device model, and OS version. This helps us find and fix bugs.
• An anonymous installation identifier. A random identifier is generated for each installation of the Spaceman VR app or Spaceman mobile app. This identifier is not tied to your name, email, account, or any other personal information, and it is not shared with third parties. Its only purpose is to let us distinguish one anonymous session from another in aggregate analytics (for example, so a single user opening the app ten times isn't counted as ten different users).

What We Do Not Collect

• Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
• Any photos, videos, or other media you capture with the Spaceman camera or import into the Spaceman apps.
• Location data.
• Contacts, calendar entries, or microphone audio.
• Any data that could be used to identify you personally.

Where Your Media Lives

Video and photo content captured with Spaceman is stored locally on your iPhone, your VR headset, or other storage you choose. We do not access the contents of your media.

Transferring captures from your iPhone to your VR headset: The Spaceman VR app can receive photos and videos from a paired iPhone over your local Wi-Fi network. These files are sent directly from your iPhone to your headset on your local network — they are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party service. Once received, they are stored in app-private storage on your headset and are deleted when you uninstall the app or remove them from within it.

iCloud note for iPhone users: The Spaceman mobile app saves your captures directly to your iPhone's photo library, into a folder called "Spaceman 3D". Like any other photo or video taken on your iPhone, these captures are subject to whatever sync settings you already have configured on your device. If you have iCloud Photos turned on, your Spaceman captures will automatically sync to your iCloud account in the same way as any other photo or video you take. This sync is handled entirely by Apple iCloud under your Apple ID — it does not go through Spaceman Reality, LLC's servers, and Spaceman Reality, LLC never sees or receives the contents of those captures. To change this behavior, adjust your iCloud Photos settings on your iPhone.

Geographic Scope

Spaceman products and apps are sold and intended for use in the United States only. We do not currently offer the product or services internationally, and this privacy policy is written for users located in the United States.

Children's Privacy

The Spaceman apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. Because we do not collect personally identifiable information from anyone, we cannot determine the age of any individual user.

Third Parties

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. The anonymous usage statistics and crash reports described above are sent over HTTPS to servers we operate at spacemanreality.com. We do not sell or share user data with advertisers or data brokers.

Your Choices

You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the Spaceman apps. You can reset your anonymous installation identifier at any time by clearing the app's data in your device's app settings, or by uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, provide notice within the app.
